My Practice Approach

My practice is relational, egalitarian, and focused on affirming self-agency. I strive to be inclusive, anti-oppressive, and provide a safe and supportive environment for everyone. For LGBTIQ+ individuals and people from diverse cultural backgrounds, and those with living experiences of stigma and oppression.

From the start, we'll work together to design a course for your therapeutic or supervision journey, deciding how often to meet and set points for review along the way. You may choose to meet weekly, fortnightly, or monthly, with each session lasting around an hour—tailored to your needs and preferences.

With over 25 years as a professional artist and an ongoing studio-based art practice, I bring a strong artist identity and creative fearlessness into my therapeutic practice. I aim to inspire and nurture this same creative spirit in the people I work alongside, encouraging them to engage confidently in the process.

Sessions include deep listening, diverse art materials and techniques, and emphasise reflective and reflexive practice, as well as response-based artmaking to support personal growth and or professional development.

I’ve found that response-based artmaking enhances the therapeutic dynamic, creating a collaborative process that fosters meaningful insights. This approach can accelerate self-realisation and help form clear connections to one's emotions, experiences, and relationships, making the journey toward growth and healing more impactful.
